Outdoor floor tiles for Cornish gardens
Thursday April 13, 2023
Outdoor floor tiles in Cornwall are something of a specialty here at Tileworld. Whether it’s for a patio or outdoor kitchen, we can highly recommend our stunning ranges of porcelain tiles.
It could be that you want to replace those old, worn and cracked patio slabs that have been a source of shame for one too many summers. Or you might be thinking about updating your garden path with something more slip-resistant. You may even be contemplating a brand-new outdoor kitchen and need the right tiles to round off your desired look. Whatever it is that you’re planning in your garden, the right tiles can set the tone for your wider scheme. But in a marketplace that’s increasingly busy, with myriad options available to you, it can be hard to know where to start. Fortunately, we have some ideas to help kick-start your project, thanks to our incredible porcelain paving range.
Why porcelain outdoor floor tiles?
Porcelain is a great material for outdoor surfaces. It could be a patio, driveway, terrace, or a garden path. Whatever your project includes, porcelain is amazingly hard-wearing with superior strength. It is scratch, stain, frost and moisture resistant, too, which means it requires very little maintenance. Able to bear significant loads of weight, and coming with the benefit of slip resistance, porcelain is a superb material for the outdoors.
Why choose outdoor floor tiles from Tileworld?
We are exceptionally proud of our porcelain tiles. Just like with everything we do here, they are designed to live up to you and your project’s needs. We are always looking to evolve the range too, and by doing so, we’re able to offer something different that genuinely stands out from the crowd.
Another key factor when choosing your tiles is sustainability. It is becoming more important to many of our clients that the products they choose are sustainably made. It’s reassuring to know, then, that manufacturing of our porcelain tiles has a goal of carbon neutrality by 2030!
What kinds of tiles can we offer?
One thing we love about these tiles is their versatility. It could be that you’re hoping to create a cohesive ‘inside-out’ design scheme. This is often a requirement for homeowners who intend to entertain both in the house and outside in their new outdoor kitchen . If this sounds like you, then we have a full range of internal and external porcelain tiles that can work together harmoniously.
We also have a superb collection of large-format tiles, which are ideal for creating high-visual impact when building your new patio.
In terms of style, it’s up to you. You could be looking for something ultra contemporary, or something more traditional. This is down to personal preference. However, in our External Porcelain Paving range alone, we offer 13 different styles. Oh, and each comes in up to four different colourways!
Some of our favourite styles
As an example, let’s look at two very different styles of external porcelain tiles. The first is Burlington. Combining the characteristics of aged slate with the benefits of modern porcelain, Burlington provides an elegant, classic look. It comes available in rectangular 895 x 595mm format, or as a patio pack which provides a more randomised and natural appearance. Burlington is available in blue, ivory, rust, and silver colourways.
The other is Optimal, offering a distinctive but varied colour blend. This style is designed to create a modern, contemporary appearance of polished concrete. Four colour options include anthracite, beige, graphite and grey, and the style offers flexibility to create the perfect outdoor space for both entertaining and relaxing.
What about installation?
Another ‘tick’ for these tiles is the fact that they can be installed on different types of surface. The first and most obvious is laying your tiles on a solid base. However, that’s not to say that a concrete foundation is required. You can also lay your tiles on gravel, which is an effective way of creating a pathway – in effect turning your tiles into ‘stepping stones’. And if you’re laying your tiles indoors, you can run them on a raised or pedestal system.
Again, what we love about our porcelain tiles is their versatility. Not only in terms of installation options, but also in terms of the choice of styles to suit your home.
